The Voting Booth

Along with 92% of independents in this country, I have a negative impression of
Nancy Pelosi. I'm also ticked at the Democrats in general. So, it is with this attitude that I went to the voting booth. And I discovered I have become my father.

See, Dad tends to vote Republican on the national level and Democrat on the local level. (At least, this is what he told me about 20 years ago when I asked. This is not an endorsement by Joe Buys of any candidate or position, although that would be good enough for me.) He also votes against incumbent senators. So, I get into the booth and can't vote for Mike Lee, the (R) senator candidate. Or any of the (R) state representatives or senators. So despite my current distaste for national (D)s, I voted almost straight-ticket Democrat. Not that it mattered, since I live in Utah and almost everyone I voted for lost. Of course, that's one of the reasons I voted for the (D)s.

I also voted in favor of the secret ballot amendment. Because NO ONE as the right to know how I voted, darn it!

Hi Molly Buys! My cute Mia Maid! So here is my perspective...I feel I am not a Republican based on some of the conservative, no...ultra conservative values my neighbors espouse! YUK!~ But I dont vote on a state level because I know my Dem vote will be null n void in this state. So whats the point really, you know , to take time out of my day, re-arrange my schedule to be out numbered and vetoed. I guess it is to simply exercise the rights our fore MOTHERS faught for, huh? I should do better. But here is the real reason I am writing to you. I have a neighbor that has Stage 4 Melanoma, another neighbor with an unusual form of Lukehemia and a dear friend in AZ with Breast Cancer. Whenever I hear the word cancer I think of my favorite lady Saundra! So I looked her up and found a beautiful tribute and an award given to her by Utah State. In that video I saw you! All grown up and BEAUTIFUL!! I found your blog and I see your children and your life and your education and you are just as impressive, knowledgable and sassy as you were back when, and that is why I loved you so very much! I went to Huntsman not too long ago while my friend was recieving his interluken IL2. I thought about roaming and asking around and trying to find your Mother. I have soo much to share with her and would love to just listen to her take and wisdom on LIFE! I also want you to know that I ordered the book by C.S. Lewis, The Great Divorce. I will read it and see what I take from it as I found your insights stirring- Soo..good to see you and hear you, kind of. Please tell your mother hello from me and that I reflect upon her and her words quite often. What a great life you have created. Lets keep in touch because I just know that there is more to me and more to you, my dear Molly!--Loves Patti Esmay Beck

No, not phrased correctly, Always good to see you and hear you! The 'kind of' meant 'kind of' hear you, because it is only through the written word! Ok---Now we are straight on that!xxxooo
